A Custom‑Made RFID Reader Frame Built for Durability, Precision, and Lean Flow

Novo Lean Solutions engineered a custom frame using modular aluminum extrusion and 3D‑printed corner guards. The design balanced strength, ergonomics, and manufacturability, enabling rapid iteration and high‑volume production.

Robust, Lean‑Driven Construction

• Aluminum Extrusion Frame: Lightweight, rigid, and ideal for One‑Piece Flow assembly. The extrusion allowed Novo Lean Solutions to maintain tight tolerances and ensure every sensor sat at the exact required angle.
• 3D‑Printed PCTG Corners: The bright yellow corner guards provided high visibility, reduced collision risk, and eliminated sharp edges, supporting ergonomic and safety goals at Gemba.
• Precision Sensor Placement: The RFID reader was mounted in a fixed, consistent location within the frame, ensuring read performance and eliminating variation (Mura) across installations.
